First of all it depends on you. If you are asking for income, you can earn about 100K per year after you became mature (CCIE).
It will take 5-7 years after you started to work. Of course you have to continue to study while you are working.
The question is “Do you want to be a network engineer?†You won’t work in your desk at all. You will spend nights in system rooms sometimes.
If you dream a job that you are in a suit with a tie, you present something to some businessman. Networking is not your way. Maybe there are some scenes like this but it is just screen saver part of all.
Summary: If you want it and you are not a candy boy/candy girl seriously think about it. Otherwise think about .NET programming or things like that.
