What is the strongest wireless modem for a good price?

wireless
Soup asked:

My computer currently does not have wireless connection, and I am planning on getting wireless internet with my roommates. I was wondering what brand and type I should buy if I am interested in receiving a strong signal and don’t want to spend too much money.

D-Link has been tested to give the best range in the wireless G category. Followed by Netgear, Belkin, Linksys.

Stay away from Pre-N (or Draft-N) products for now as the final spec hasn’t been approved yet, and may not be for 6 months to a year from now. Current generation “N” products may not be compatible with the final spec.
