What does Cisco have to offer for the average consumer?

I see ads for Cisco all the time, especially on FOX where they seem to supply their technologies for several of the shows. Why are they advertising to the common consumer? I went to their website and it seems as though everything is meant for corporate entities.

They have this little “featured” section for individuals and entrepreneurs, but even there it seems like they don’t have anything to offer as a company. Everything seemed to discuss how technology connects their lives, without touching on an specific Cisco products in particular.

You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.

Linksys is the part of CISCO that is aimed at the retail consumer. They sell home wireless networking equipment…

I agree that Cisco’s website doesn’t do a great job of demonstrating consumer value. That said, in addition to Linksys, which I admit I had forgotten about, Cisco has launched a technology service that will allow medical specialists to make video house calls to patients. They also purchased the Flip video camera earlier this year.
