Fixed Computer With Wired Fail Connecting To Any FTP sites

Having Netgear DG834G v3 with latest firmware, the one user tries connecting it to desktop PC via Ethernet cable, and to laptop via wireless with Windows XP Pro SP2 on both machines. He’s found the laptop wireless works fine for websites, email and FTP. But there are found the desktop with wired failed connecting to any FTP sites. The same result also found on numerous FTP clients, FTP Explorer, CuteFTP, WS_FTP, Smart FTP, etc.

To resolve the problem of Netgear DG834G v3 wired failed connecting to any FTP sites, at first you need to make sure the laptop with wireless connection and desktop firewall is okay. Next, the router firewall should have FTP rule set up already. Now try to go to Internet Explorer Tools => Internet Options => Advanced, there will be an entry Use Passive FTP, see is that checked? If it’s not, simply check it and reboot the computer. See if your Netgear DG834G v3 wired still failed connecting to any FTP sites.
